Share your wildlife photos

Have you taken a great wildlife photo in Kearsney Abbey, Russell Gardens, or Bushy Ruff?

We would love to see it!

Each year, Kearsney Parks invites visitors to send us their best photos of the wildlife found across our parks. From birds and butterflies to dragonflies, mammals, and wildflowers, your photographs help celebrate the incredible nature that can be found in these special green spaces.

The competition runs throughout the year, and the winning photographs will be selected towards the end of November. The best images will be featured in the Kearsney Parks Calendar.

How to enter

Simply email your wildlife photographs to:

kearsney.parks@dover.gov.uk

Please include:

  • Your name
  • The location where the photo was taken (Kearsney Abbey, Russell Gardens or Bushy Ruff)
  • A brief description of the wildlife featured in the image (if known)

Please note that images in landscape orientation are a better fit for the calendar.

Important: email file size limit

To help make sure your entry reaches us successfully, please do not send too many large photographs in a single email. Large emails may be rejected by some email systems. We recommend keeping each email below 25MB in total size.

Photo permission and usage

By submitting wildlife photographs to Kearsney Parks, you give Dover District Council (Kearsney Parks) permission to use your images on the following platforms:

  • Kearsney Parks website
  • Kearsney Parks publications, including brochures and leaflets
  • Social media channels
  • Kearsney Parks Calendar
  • Kearsney Parks advertising, such as banners
  • Editing or cropping of your image where required

Dover District Council regularly works with other organisations, journalists, and members of the media to provide information and images for public relations and marketing activities that promote the district to a wider audience. Your images may be shared for these purposes.

All images used will be copyrighted/credited to you or your organisation.

Get involved!

Whether you are a keen wildlife photographer or simply enjoy taking photos during your visit, we encourage you to take part.

Your photographs help showcase the beauty and biodiversity of Kearsney Parks and inspire others to enjoy and protect these special places.

Send your wildlife photographs to us, and maybe your photo will be in this year's Kearsney Parks Calendar.
