Chalk grassland survey

Location
Kearsney Abbey
Date(s)
Thursday 21st May 2020 (10:00-15:00)
Description

This event has been cancelled.

Chalk grassland is sometimes called Europe’s tropical rainforest. Up to 40 species of flowering plants can be found in a single square metre. Following scrub clearance over the last year, we’ll be doing some simple surveys to find out how many species are growing on Coxhill Mount!

We'll be meeting in the car park at Kearsney Abbey at 10am. Please bring along some water and a packed lunch if you'd like to stay all day. You should wear sensible walking shoes and come prepared for all weathers! Please note that there is a steep walk up to Coxhill Mount and the path can get very muddy in wet weather.

This task is being led by the Kearsney Parks project. For more information, please email kearsney.parks@dover.gov.uk
