Learning outside in Kearsney Parks

Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens

This practical workshop in Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens will explore cross-curricular learning  outside for primary schools. The workshop will cover art, geography, maths, literacy and science.

The workshop will be led by Niall Leyden, an Outdoor Education Adviser for the Education People and former headteacher Andrew Lamb.

Niall has more than 20 years' experience as an outdoor instructor, teacher in schools, outdoor centre manager and outdoor education advisor. He has a wealth of experience across a wide range of outdoor learning disciplines, including science, geography and environmental education. 

Andrew was Executive Headteacher of a large, outstanding primary school which was at the forefront of inclusive education for children with profound and complex needs within a mainstream primary school. He also has substantial experience in the advisory service in Primary Maths, ICT, Drama and Dance.

The workshop will run from 12.30pm - 3.30pm and will take place whatever the weather, so please dress appropriately! You should also wear sturdy shoes for walking.
