Project Update September 2015
After a busy summer, we have lots to share with you – we are planning consultation sessions on the final restoration and improvements plans, health walk training is taking place and there is some emergency work happening in the parks.
Our conservation plan is ready, final designs for the restoration and improvement works are almost complete and a range of activities have been planned to help people make the most of the parks. Please come along and let us know what you think about the plans:
- Monday 5 October - 5pm to 7pm at St Marys Parish Centre, Dieu Stone Lane, Dover
- Tuesday 6 October - 9am to 12 noon in Kearsney Abbey
- Thursday 8 October - 2pm to 5pm in Russell Gardens
- Saturday 10 October - 10am to 1pm in Kearsney Abbey
All the sessions will have the same information and you can drop in at any time. We will also put all the plans on our website and will send out a link shortly. This will be the last chance to comment on the plans before they are submitted to our funders, so please come along and discuss the plans with the project team.
Health Walk training
Are you interested in leading a health walk in Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens? East Kent Health Walks are holding a walk leader training day on Wednesday 14 October in Dover. For more information and to sign up please email their volunteer coordinator, Martyn Jordan, on firstname.lastname@example.org
We have been carrying out some rather noisy emergency works in Kearsney Abbey recently – we had to deal with a fallen tree near the lake and needed to replace the café doors. The work should be complete shortly – we’re sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes.
