Project Update May 2018
This month, we continue to plan for the summer. During June we will be unveiling our main event, so watch this space.
The works for Russell Garden’s new entrance and pathway continue. Phase one of the works is well underway and will complete the second week in June.
Kearsney Parks Team are recruiting a Parks Development Officer who will be responsible for delivering horticultural excellence, high quality management, maintenance, and community engagement for Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens.
The officer will deliver the key objectives set out for the HLF project, and the ongoing maintenance and park development post HLF funding under the Parks and Open Spaces department at Dover District Council.
Do you write, paint or draw?
We’re looking for local artists and writers to take part in the Park Bench project. This is being delivered in partnership with Dover Arts Development as part of our Art in the Park – Kearsney Interpreted arts project.
We’re going to create a moving image video work with an original sound score that will be screened next year. This will be made up of prose, poetry, paintings and drawings that have been created while sitting on different park benches in Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens.
