Kearsney Parks Update

Works update

The Heras fencing is being taken down surrounding the de-culverted areas and benches put in the new locations. The pathways on site are nearing completion and the last phase of pathways will be completed in the next two weeks.

The grand border has been planted in Russell Gardens. The planting includes Phormium, Salvias, Echinacea and larger shrubs for impact such as Corylus and Cotinus.

The island bed in Russell Gardens is also being prepared for planting, which will include Gunnera. The ornamental water lilies are being prepared in their baskets for installation in the lily pond and the pumps have been commissioned.

The parks and toilets are remaining open, and the mobile cafe remains in operation, as the new lockdown period starts today.

Looking forward to 2021, there will be a variety of gardening tasks in Kearsney Park and Russell Gardens to undertake including the grand border and orchard. If you are interested in volunteering, and would like to be put on our database, please get in touch at kearsney.parks@dover.gov.uk.

There are always great opportunities for taking photos in the park, be it with a camera or your phone.

If you do take any and you’re pleased with the results, please do send in any photos that you’d be happy to see in the Kearsney Parks calendar 2021, to kearsney.parks@dover.gov.uk
