April - May Update

General update

The landscaping works in Russell Gardens are now complete and the gardens were opened just before the Easter holidays. The new natural play area has proved very popular with locals and visitors, and the pathways both sides of the lake are open now the flooding has receded.

Please remember to keep following all the latest government COVID-safety guidance - please see the latest information on the GOV.UK website.

Over 60 fruit trees have been planted in the new orchard in Russell Gardens including apples, pears and cherries. These have been included in the BBC Countryfile Plant Britain project.

If you visit Kearsney Parks over the next few weeks, look out for blossom in the newly planted fruit trees in the orchard.

Café and toilets

The new toilets are open, and the mobile café is still on site. The new café will open in early summer.

The parks continue to be a haven for wildlife, and there are lots of ducklings, baby coots and moorhens to be seen, there might even be some cygnets soon. Please be aware and watch out for the wildlife when you are visiting and ensure your dogs are under control and on their leads in the designated areas of the park.
